Partakers of the Divine Nature
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

Partakers of the Divine Nature
Once we were dead in our sins. We were not able to do anything about our condition. That is all changed in Christ Jesus our Lord. The Apostle Peter tells you that you have been granted life and godliness. The promises of God are kept and his Word has come true in you. In this Word is granted great and abundant blessing. Jesus transfers us from death into life. He takes us from nothing to being children of God. How great is this love, that you would go from nothing to having a Heavenly Father. You are brothers and sisters of Jesus. In death there is corruption. The body decays. So, Jesus takes you from the sins that destroy us (sometimes from the inside out) and transfers us to be like him. We rejoice in the righteousness of Jesus. He has led us from captivity into freedom by his death and resurrection.
