To Take Away Sins
Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.

To Take Away Sins
Grace is a free gift. We did nothing to earn it yet we still receive it. And even though it is free it cost us everything. It cost us the sinful and selfish people we were before His grace came to us. It costs us lives of deceit and lawlessness. It cost us a libertine lifestyle of doing whatever we want without regard for our neighbor. It also cost God. It cost Him His Son, Jesus Christ. God gave His Son as a ransom for us, for He knew we would never be able to pay for our sins. Because there was no sin in Jesus, His death paid for the sins of all. His death took away our sins. And so now we are new creations, putting away our old sinful selves and living as forgiven children of God. Anointed with the Holy Spirit we are freed to love God and love our neighbors. Never perfect in this life, still sinners, yet at the same time saints, God in Christ has reconciled us to the Father.
