God in the Midst
Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.

God in the Midst
God hears Habakkuk’s pleas and answers him here in the following verses. It is interesting that God does not tell Habakkuk to simply see how things will unfold in the affairs of the world, but He says that “I am doing a work in your days.” Our heavenly Father is not a distant and uninterested God. He does not neglect His creation. He shows Himself directly in the lives of His people. He is the one who plans and directs history. In Habakkuk’s day and in ours as well. What great comfort this truth brings to God’s people. Even though things may look horrible for us here on earth, He is forever in control. Day after day, month after month, year after year, forever, He guides and directs our world for the good of His people. Just as He would send a star to guide men from the East to the Savior, today His Word comes to us and reveals Christ Jesus to us. The cross of Christ remains as the testament of God’s intervention in our lives and His continued care for His people.
