15 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

Hold Fast
This life is a bumpy ride. There are many things trying to pull you off your path. The devil, the world, and your sinful nature want to destroy your faith in Jesus. Through passions and pleasures, deceptions and lies, these enemies want to steal away your salvation and destroy your life. But the Lord gives the strongest thing. He gives the most enduring thing. He gives the armor that extinguishes the fiery darts of the evil one. This one thing is his Word. He sends it to you. He wraps you with it. He makes the cross of Christ yours by it. Hold fast to the Word that is preached. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. He delivers it into your heart.
