The Spiritual King

In Your majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let Your right hand teach You awesome deeds!

The Spiritual King
When you hear the king mentioned [in this psalm], do not think of a king of the world or a king in purple and gold, but a King in the spirit, who reigns in truth, not in wealth and tyranny. For he says "proceed prosperously and reign" (v. 4). And do this because of truth and meekness and justice. And "Your right hand shall lead You wonderfully," that is to say, not according to men, who do not discern such a reign. Therefore those three, truth, meekness, righteousness, are most fittingly mentioned, especially so that His rule may not be thought of "as physical. Also the words "shall lead You wonderfully" are along the same line. For when he said "proceed prosperously and reign," he adds "because of truth," et cetera, as if to say: "So that through those and in these Your rule shall consist, You shall prosper toward it."
