True Equality
[There is] one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
EPHESIANS 4:6

True Equality
All outside of Christ are condemned, one like the other; each needs Christ as much as the other. But when we are converted, each one receives the same Baptism, the same Sacrament, the same faith, the same Christ, the same Spirit, the same Gospel—in short, the same God as the other [see Ephesians 4:4-6]. Here in this wilderness manna is distributed equally [Exodus 16:16-171. Then how can it possibly be right for one to claim to be more spiritual than another, more a priest than another? What can he have that is better than Christ? Nevertheless, each has the same Christ, and Christ receives each one unreservedly.
From the Church Postil, sermon for Advent 2 on Romans 15:4-13 (Luther's Works 75:81)
